A creative recipe to make Raiden Shogun's Dango Milk with intricately designed dango flowers, made from mochiko, sugar, and flavored with mashed purple sweet potato. These delicate dango pieces are arranged creatively and served with a refreshing drink made of milk and honey.
1: Add all ingredients of Dango Base into a medium sized bowl. Mix to combine, and set aside 1 tablespoon for flower decorations. 2: Split the 1 tablespoon of Dango Base into two small bowls, leaving one white, and make one yellow by adding yellow food coloring. 3: Peel, cut, boil a small sweet purple potato in water until soft, around 15 minutes on medium-high heat. 4: Mash and add 1/2 cup to the leftover Dango Base. Mix until combined. Allow to cool before forming flowers. 5: Form the flowers on parchment paper as they will be too delicate to move once designed. 6: Make small balls of dango (around 1/2 teaspoon or 3g). Place a small ball onto a parchment paper. Flatten into around shape, making sure the width will fit through your milk bottle opening. 7: Make 5 slices equally spaced radially, then take each section and press gently to make petals. 8: Make a line through each petal using a toothpick or a small pointed tool. Then fill it in with White Dango Base, then a small scoop of Yellow Dango Base in the centre. 9: To cook the dango: boil water on medium-high heat and place the parchment paper with dango on top of a spatula. 10: Carefully slide the parchment paper with dango into the water. Remove the parchment paper after 1 minute using tongs. Continue to cook the dango for a total of 3 minutes. 11: Remove from heat onto a parchment paper lined plate. 12: To assemble: Wet a long utensil, to avoid dango from sticking to it, then place dango on top. 13: Carefully press the dango onto your milk bottle and arrange according to your design. Freeze your design for 10 minutes before adding liquids. 14: Make your drink by adding ice, honey, milk, mashed purple sweet potato for color, and whipping cream!
