1. Heat canola oil in a pan over medium-high heat. 2. Season the beef with salt and pepper and cook in the pan until browned on both sides. Remove from the pan and set aside. 3. In the same pan, add the sliced garlic and butter, cooking until fragrant. 4. Stir in soy sauce, sugar, tonkatsu sauce, and water. Mix well. 5. Add cornstarch to the sauce to thicken, stirring constantly. 6. Add the beef back into the pan, coating it with the garlic butter sauce. 7. Sprinkle with chopped green onion before serving with fried rice.
